Boulder's Dreamer Scholars Graduate High School!

These Dreamer Scholars started their journey with us in 2008 at Boulder Housing Partners' low-income housing site, and we couldn't be prouder of each and every one. Congratulations, graduates! We wish you all the best as you take the next step in your journeys and we are here for you as you do!

DreamHERS Retreat Caps Carbon Valley Girls' Empowerment Program

With support from the Women's Fund of Weld County, Dreamer Scholars from Thunder Valley K-8 in Frederick took their moms and grandmas on a spring break retreat to Peaceful Valley Ranch.
Enjoying activities like Zumba class, with  Notre Dame Mission Volunteers AmeriCorps (NDMVA member Julie Schuldt, hikes in the foothills near Elbert, CO, and delicious meals prepared by the mothers and grandmothers, participants shared a weekend of friendship and learning. The DreamHERS retreat was the culmination of a girls' empowerment curriculum led by NDMVA AmeriCorps member Avery Scott.
Priceless experiences like these are the foundation of Dreamer Scholars' success, building the strong relationships they need to get to and through college.

"I Have A Dream" Has *The Greatest Volunteers*

Our devoted mentors, program volunteers, interns, events volunteers, coaches, Board members, and helpers got the royal treatment at our first annual volunteer appreciation event. About the "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County
Since 1990, the award-winning "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has assisted 1,000 children from low-income areas in achieving their education and career goals by providing long-term personal and academic support, tutoring, mentoring and four-year tuition-assistance scholarships to each graduating student. The organization sponsors entire groups of students from elementary schools or from low-income housing sites and works with these children and their families from elementary school through high school graduation and then "to and through" college. Currently, there are 10 active "I Have A Dream" classes in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts. The "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has doubled expected graduation rates for its graduating classes of students and has awarded over $2 million in scholarships. The program follows the national model established in New York in 1981 by founder Eugene Lang.
