I hope everyone has had a lovely break and holiday season. This coming week we jump right back into things with MayDay Games on Friday and our beautiful Mayfaire on Saturday. As part of the festival this year, the 6th Grade will be performing their play, "Robin Hood," for our opening Mayfaire assembly. A full schedule of events is listed below, as are requests for support for the event, including bakers! After all, what would Mayfaire be without our traditional cupcake walk?
Mayfaire is also a rite of passage for our First and Eighth Graders, as the little ones beautify the area around the Maypole so that the older students can perform the traditional dances and artistic weaving of the ribbons. Not just beautiful, the ritual can also be seen as one of the final ways in which the Class of 2019 will weave together their creativity and goodwill to present something beautiful together before heading out into the wider world of high school. If you haven't attended in the past to witness this endearing and symbolic event, we especially hope you will don something white or light, adorn yourself with colorful flowers, and join us!
Don't forget, too, that Summer Camp registration is open now. We have an eclectic program this year for all age groups, so please check below for more details and a link to reserve your child's spot.
Have a wonderful final weekend of break, and I'll look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday morning!
