Mayor & Freeholder Kick Off Montgomery EMS Drive
Lead by Example - Support MEMS This Spring!
Did you know that Montgomery EMS is entirely supported by donations, is 100% volunteer and provides emergency medical services to Montgomery Township 24 hours a day, 365 days per year at no cost to the patient?  Each year they hold a fund drive to raise funds for this vital service.

This year Somerset County Freeholder Mark Caliguire, a long-time Montgomery resident and past Mayor, together with Montgomery Township's current Mayor, Ed Trzaska, made the donations to Montgomery EMS kick off their 2017 Fund Drive.
Mayor Trzaska stated "The Montgomery EMS squad continues to play a key role in our public health and safety services.  They have been protecting our community for 45 years and their professionalism and expertise are second to none. My family feels safer knowing we can count on them whenever needed.  They are also very cost effective and provide the town with a tremendous financial benefit.  Their annual budget is about $170,000, which is mostly paid for through donations.  If the town had to take over EMS services, it would cost the taxpayers of Montgomery well over $1 million."
Freeholder Caliguire added: "Our town's EMS squad is one of the best in the State and everyone in Montgomery should be proud of them.  I urge all residents and businesses of our Township to support Montgomery EMS in any way they can."
The volunteers of Montgomery EMS are your neighbors.  Last year they donated over 35,000 hours of service to the community.  The funds Montgomery EMS receives from the annual fund drive goes towards maintaining and replacing equipment, supplies, building and ambulances, as well as the continuous training of their crews. Their EMTs are state certified and spend many hours attending continuing education classes.
Look for the fund drive flier in your mailbox early in May. Show your support by sending a tax-deductible donation to Montgomery EMS either in the envelope provided or via PayPal at  Also don't forget to check with your human resources department to see if your company has a matching gifts program.
