Mayor Bowser Announces that DC will Begin Phase Two Reopening on June 22nd

MAYOR BOWSER ISSUES ORDER DETAILING PHASE TWO OF THE DISTRICT'S REOPENING TO BEGIN ON JUNE 22, 2020

Today, Mayor Bowser issued a new order indicating that the District will begin Phase 2 of reopening on June 22, 2020. The Order established a variety of standards for several types of businesses including:

The prohibition on large gatherings will expand from less than 10 persons to no more than fifty (50) individuals;
Non-essential retail establishments may open for indoor shopping provided that health guidance is followed and the number of shoppers in the store is no more than 50% capacity;
Restaurants and other food service establishments may offer indoor seating pursuant to the order and health guidance
Other non-essential businesses such as tanning, tattoo, waxing and other skincare services are permitted to open using the same conditions as hair salons. Other businesses not in the personal services industry are encouraged to maintain telework policies.

Don't Forget to Take The Work Wellness Survey

In partnership with the DC Department of Health (DC Health), the DC Chamber requests your assistance in completing a work wellness survey to support our new initiative. This survey, based on the CDC Worksite Health Scorecard is designed to help employers assess whether they have implemented evidence-based health promotion interventions or strategies in their worksites to improve the health and well-being of their employees. The survey takes about an hour to complete and will allow the DC Chamber and DC Health to get a baseline understanding of the wellness landscape for employees in Washington, D.C. With the aggregate data, we will provide feedback to DC Health advocating for more resources that can assist businesses in worksite health activities.
