Mayor Rick Allen Recognizes Mayor's Women's Commission Trash Bash Poster Contest Winners
LEESVILLE, La.-- Mayor Rick Allen visited West Leesville Elementary and South Polk Elementary on November 9, 2015 to give certificates of recognition to students who placed in the Mayor's Women's Commission (MWC) Trash Bash Poster Contest.

There were two categories for students to compete in, one for kindergarten - 2nd grade, and the other from 3rd grade - 6th grade. There were two winner from West Leesville Elementary in the K-2 division.

"Congratulations on winning the poster contest," Mayor Allen told the winners. "Your creativity is great, and thank you for contributing to the Fall Trash Bash."

Matthew Koury, a student in Ms. Dodson's 2nd grade class, won 1st place. He received $25 from the MWC and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor. Amy Rogers was the 2nd place winner of the K-2 division. She is a student in Ms. Dodson's 2nd grade class as well. She received $15 from the MWC and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor.

The remaining winners are all students at South Polk Elementary. 3rd place in the K-2 division was Summer Knox, a 2nd grade student in Mr. York's class. Summer won $10 from  the MWC and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor.

The winners of the 3rd-6th grade competition were all in the 4th grade at South Polk Elementary. Amanda Massieu won 1st place,  $25 from the MWC, and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor. Reagan McGuire won 2nd place, $15 from the MWC, and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor. The 3rd place winner was Angelina Deleon. She won $10 from the MWC, and a signed certificate of recognition from the Mayor.
