This weekend will be a fun one in Kingston, with both the O+ Festival and the Italian Festival happening. O+ will have events throughout the weekend at several locations, and the Italian Festival will be Sunday from 11am-8pm in the Rondout.

Festival of Scarecrows 

Please join the Friends of Historic Kingston for the Festival of Scarecrows, an outdoor community event on Saturday, October 22 from 10am to 2pm at Frog Alley Park, the ruins of the Louw-Bogardus House on Frog Alley.

The Festival of Scarecrows features scarecrows designed by local artists, businesses and community members, artwork by by Kingston City School District elementary schools, and animals from the Forsyth Nature Center.

If you would like to create and display a scarecrow for the event, please contact scarecrowsatfrogalley@gmail.com by October 7 to reserve your spot!

Mayor Noble's Tuesday Radio Show

Mayor Noble hosts a weekly radio show on Tuesdays at 5:00pm which airs live on Radio Kingston and the City of Kingston Facebook page.

This week, Mayor Noble spoke with Bill Reynolds, the City's new Project Manager for the Econmic Recovery Plan.

New Bike Shelter at Kingston Point Beach

A new bike rack and shade structure has been installed at Kingston Point Beach, which will also serve the Hudson River Brickyard Trail section of the Empire State Trail.

Roadwork Update for Week of October 10

Preparation for paving on Albany Avenue will continue next week. 

Central Hudson: Lucas Ave main installation will continue next week.  

Midtown Parking Lots Green Improvements: work is proceeding on the Prince Street lot (next to Moneky Joe). Cornell lot curbing is expected to arrive next week. After curb installation, work to finish paving, landscaping, and striping can proceed. The Cornell lot is expected to be completed by end of October. 

Franklin Street Complete Streets work continues with granite curb, bluestone, and concrete sidewalk installation along the north and south side of the road from Wall Street to Broadway. 

Wilbur Ave construction next week will include shoulder widening, underdrain installation and guiderail removal.

City of Kingston Drought Update

The recent rainfall, in combination with the activation of Emergency Reservoir #4, has helped the situation at the Cooper Lake Reservoir.

However, with the colder months approaching, we are still in a drought condition. The Drought Emergency remains in place, and it continues to be important that all customers conserve water

Remember conserving water will also save you money on your quarterly bill.
