The City’s Health & Wellness team's vegetable-of-the-month campaign, Kingston Eats Veggies, kicked off in September with peppers. October’s veggie is kale & collards, and in November we’ll celebrate carrots.
The campaign has garnered lots of support with 46 partners, such as the Kingston Farmers' Market, local schools, restaurants, daycares, food pantries, and community centers. Upcoming activities include:
• On Saturday, November, 18, the Kingston Farmers' Market will give away 1lb bunches of greens to the first 50 community members.
• Starting in November, People's Place Community Café: will offer soup specials featuring carrot in a variety of ways throughout the month
• Tilda's Kitchen will have free breakfast& lunch every 4th Wed. of the month.
