A Message From Mayor Steve Noble:

On Monday, there will be a Veteran's Day ceremony at City Hall. It's a lovely event that's open to the public and I encourage everyone to attend. 

With the weather turning cold this week, our local warming center will be open nights. Please share with anyone who might need this information. We don't want anyone in our community to be out in the cold.

Pine Grove Avenue Area Paving
 
Now that the storm sewer replacement work in the area of Pine Grove Avenue is complete, paving is  in progress this week on Pine Grove, Valley, Sterling, Susan and Summer Streets. Paving will be completed early next week, weather permitting.

Warming Center Now Open 
 
The Warming Center will begin an evening schedule starting Wednesday, November 6 at 7:00pm.  Evening hours are 7pm through 9am the following morning. 

The Warming Center will remain on an evening schedule through late next week as evening and overnight temperatures are expected to remain below 32 degrees.

PLEASE NOTE:  The center is now located at the 2nda Iglesia La Mision Church, 80 Elmendorf St, Kingston NY 12401. 

Veteran's Day Ceremony at City Hall

We value and appreciate our veterans here in Kingston.  The Kingston Veteran's Association will be holding a Veteran's Day ceremony at City Hall in Council Chambers on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00am. Mayor Noble will give remarks followed by this year's speaker, Kingston Veteran's Association Chairman Bill Forte. Color guards from local veterans' organizations will give an honor guard presentation.  After the indoor ceremony, on the memorial lawn in front of City Hall, there will be a rifle salute and playing of Taps. 

This is a nice opportunity for our community to come out and reflect and honor those who have served our country.  The event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend. 

City Services on Veteran's Day

City Hall offices will be closed on Monday, November 11 (but the building will be open for the ceremony at 11am). There will be no trash and recycling pick-ups on Monday, and will be delayed one day next week. 

DPW will be picking up leaves for the rest of November. Small garden debris can still be added to leaf bags but DPW will not be taking shrubs or large branches at this point. 

Call for Boards and Commissions

We encourage all individuals who are interested in serving on a Board, Commission and/or Committee, to please complete an application online. 

This information will be used in determining which individuals are best suited to serve on each Board, Commission and Committee, based on their qualifications, backgrounds, skills and interests. The purpose of this application process is to enable the City to recruit individuals who have a strong desire and ability to serve and to ensure that each Board, Commission and Committee reflects the rich diversity of our community. We are striving to build an inclusive process that seeks to attract applicants who embody the values and principles of our community and who are committed to serving in this important role with integrity, respect, compassion, and professionalism.
