Dear Friends,
I am happy to report that the remainder of Foxhall Avenue will be paved this month. DPW was out this week preparing the sewer below Foxhall to ensure it's in good condition before the paving. Thank you to the men and women of DPW who have worked so hard to make this happen!
Fall festivals are such an important part of building community, so I hope you'll join me at one of the four festivals this weekend, which have a wide variety of offerings.
Please save the date for the upcoming Weaving the Waterfront event, which is a unique opportunity for the public to actively explore, learn about, and participate in the future of the Rondout Creek and Kingston Point waterfront. We are excited to collaborate with the community to design and build a resilient and active waterfront. These important improvements will benefit our community for generations to come.

Save the Date: 2020 Budget Address on October 17
I hope you will join me when I present the 2020 City of Kingston Proposed Budget on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 6:00pm in Council Chambers at City Hall.
After the meeting, the 2020 Recommended Budget and my Budget Address speech will be posted at the City's website in the Service News section.
The City of Kingston's Common Council will then review my Recommended Budget. A public feedback session will be held, and the C
ommon Council Finance Committee will schedule a series of meetings to closely examine all aspects of the budget.
Meeting dates will be announced as they are scheduled.

Paving on Foxhall to be Completed This Month
Mayor Steve Noble and DPW Superintendent Edward Norman are pleased to announce the completion of paving on Foxhall Avenue has been scheduled. Milling will begin on or around October 15, weather depending, on Foxhall Ave from Stephan Street to Hasbrouck Avenue. Paving work will occur the following week and will be completed by October 25, weather depending.
There will be intermittent traffic detours in place from now through the milling and paving work. Drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes.
The City of Kingston has created an online hub for all things paving, including a list of streets paved in 2019, photos from current projects, letters to residents regarding upcoming roadwork, and forthcoming projects that involve paving. Visit www.kingston-ny.gov/paving for more information.

Service Disruption Notices - Monday, October 14
On Monday, there will be several roadwork projects to be aware of across the City.
1.) S
tarting on Monday,
CSX will be working on the tracks,
taking out the old ties and placing new ones. In order to complete this work, they will be closing the following roads at the railroad crossings:
Smith Ave.
Foxhall Ave.
Gage St.
Each road will be closed for 2- 3 days during the work. Detours will be posted.
2.) Central Hudson will be working at the intersection of St James St and Broadway to prepare for the restoration of a trench that was left last year. Traffic should be moving smoothly but delays and detours are possible.
3.)
In order to relocate a hydrant in conjunction with the Hurley Ave. Revitalization Project, a shutdown of water service to some residents in the nearby section of Kingston is needed. The shutdown is planned for Monday, October 14, to coincide with a period when students will not be present at J. Watson Bailey Middle School.

Weaving the Waterfront Open House Event
Mayor Noble and the Offices of Grants Management and Sustainability are pleased to announce an outdoor open house event, Weaving the Waterfront: Kingston, on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The open house will inform and engage the community about four major projects that will improve and protect the Kingston Waterfront:
Weaving the Waterfront: Kingston
will allow the community to be involved in creating a vision for specific designs in the Kingston Waterfront. The event will include: a self-guided walking or bicycling tour with exhibit stops staffed by the project design teams; free boat tours to the Lighthouse; and trolley rides to and from Kingston Point. Information regarding the projects and the tours will be available throughout the day in the Kingston Home Port and Education Center also known as the Clearwater Barn at 50 Rondout Landing.
Weaving the Waterfront
will bring together engineering and design teams from McLaren Engineering Group, Weston & Sampson, Supermass Studio and Brinnier & Larios PC and City staff to inform the public about the current design projects along the Kingston Waterfront. Additional projects affecting the waterfront, including the
Kingston Point Rail Trail Phase 2, Hudson Landing Promenade
and
TR Gallo Park Improvements
, will be exhibited in the Kingston Home Port and the Trolley Museum.
