Mayor's Message

Dear Friends,
I was excited to announce last week the launch of our new shuttle service, now available on Friday evenings and all day Saturdays. My goal with this new service is to help residents and visitors more easily move throughout our city's major business districts. The interest so far has been wonderful and I want to thank each of you who shared the details of the shuttle's launch and provided feedback. We were able to make some changes early on thanks to this input. I will be working with my staff to fine tune the details of this new service and will release an updated schedule soon. I hope you will consider taking a ride on this low cost shuttle and explore Kingston's amazing network of local businesses with me.

I am also happy to share that we are preparing for our first ever community-based budget forum this Thursday at 6:00pm. The purpose of this forum is to provide an overview of the budget process, particularly the opportunities and challenges that we expect moving forward. Following a dynamic presentation by our City Comptroller, John Tuey, each of our participants will be asked to join us in work groups where we will discuss the budget constraints and possibilities in more depth. I sincerely hope to see a number of interested and committed citizens join us in this effort.

Also, please note that due to the extreme heat we experienced last week, the screening of "Finding Nemo" was cancelled last Friday. We were able to quickly reschedule for this Friday, so please join us for this free, family-friendly event!

-Steve

Mayor Noble recently hosted a group of 6th, 7th and 8th graders from one of the Kingston Parks and Recreation summer programs after their original plans were rained out. After lunch, the youth went on a guided tour of City Hall. Here is a photo from the building's iconic tower.
