Chamber Supports Mayor’s Budget Priorities

Last night, the City Council held a five-hour discussion on the Mayor’s March Budget Message, setting direction toward a balanced budget. We appreciate the Council’s focus on pairing fiscal responsibility with long-term economic growth.

The Chamber’s CEO, Board Chair, and board members spoke in support—reinforcing that while cost control is necessary, long-term fiscal health depends on growing the economy. That means faster, lower-cost housing, streamlined permitting, and a continued focus on a safe, clean, and well-managed city.

We also highlighted the opportunity to grow San Jose’s sports and entertainment economy—driving visitation, jobs, and revenue.

As the budget process continues, business engagement is essential. Please reach out to info@sjchamber.com if you’d like to join our advocacy efforts.
