In a recent newsletter, I mentioned one of the projects I have spearheaded on behalf of veterans, the development of transitional housing for homeless or at-risk veterans in partnership with the Veterans Community Project (VCP). This development is part of the work of "The Triple M" - short for the Mayor's Military Mission.
As a result, I have been asked what exactly is The Triple M? It is a great question and one I am grateful to be asked.
Most of you know I have dedicated endless hours to providing resources and support for those who serve and have served. Since before taking elected office, I have made the welfare of U.S. military members and veterans one of my top priorities.
As part of my pledge to veterans, I founded The Triple M. I wanted to call it “3M,” but that name was already taken.
I have said it before, and I will say it again; my vision is for the West Valley to become synonymous with veteran advocacy and support.
You can see that we are well on our way to achieving that goal through the popularity and support for our various initiatives, such as the Stand Up for Veterans event, the Military Induction Ceremony, and now the Veterans’ Village.
Through The Triple M – a growing and passionate group of volunteers – this vision is becoming a reality.
The Triple M membership has grown through strong support from both local businesses and non-profit organizations, and residents like you.
I encourage all Glendale residents, who share my commitment to veterans, to join The Triple M. You won't find a better group of people to work with.
Glendale's motto is improving the lives of the people we serve every day, and The Triple M does just that.
In your service,
