A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo
|
|
Dear Neighbor:
As we continue to stand together to ensure the safety of our entire community, I want to reassure residents that the Township’s high level services and support will continue, but we all must do our part to help out. As I've stated before, this pandemic knows no race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or age. Wearing a face covering correctly can dramatically decrease the release of droplets from people’s mouths, which can carry infectious particles. Please remember to cover both the nose & mouth, wash hands before putting on a mask, and wash the face covering after use.
We must continue our efforts to social distance, wear PPE, and combat this dangerous virus. In the midst of the holidays, please be vigilant by wearing a mask, frequently washing your hands, and avoiding large gatherings—particularly indoors. Quarantine and get tested if you feel you have symptoms or come in contact with someone who is positive. And as always, look out for one another. Please utilize our website for information on Township services, and the Camden County website for information on testing site locations, holiday safety guidelines, and for the most recent COVID-19 updates.
This year has been difficult to say the least, but I hope you can take some time to express gratitude for all that you do have and show appreciation to those around you. Many of us know someone that has struggled this past year and there is not better time than now to lend a helping hand while also reflecting on all that we have to be thankful for.
The Cherry Hill Township Food Drive is still underway. If you have the means to do so, please help out our fellow neighbors in need by collecting non-perishable food items. Donations can be dropped off throughout town including at Town Hall, Croft Farm, Cherry Hill Food Pantry, and Jewish Family and Children Service's until the end of year. For more information on donation items, drop off times, and more, please visit our website.
And finally, I want to wish those who celebrate a very joyous and Happy Hanukkah! May the light of the season shine throughout the year.
Please continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
|

Chery Hill Fire Department's Christmas Tree Safety Tips
|
|
|
Following a few simple tips can help make your holidays fire-safe:
- Water your live Christmas tree every day. A dry tree is a fire hazard. Trees too close to a heat source cause 1 in every 4 winter fires.
- Make sure you are using the right lights. Some lights are only for indoor or outdoor use, but not both.
- Replace any string of lights with worn or broken cords or loose bulb connections.

During these difficult times when we cannot do our normal routine, we must find new things to make us happy and keep us engaged.
Call your friends, neighbors, and your relatives, especially those that you haven't talked to in a while. They are home and would be happy to hear from you.
Write letters to the special people in your life. Share your ideas and let them know you're thinking of them.
Organize your closets and drawers. Find things to donate or get ready for the neighborhood garage sales that will be coming soon when things get better.
Take care of your health. Take your temperature and your blood pressure if you have a home monitor. Eat and drink well. Keep moving; walk around your house, dance, exercise.
Now is the time to pull out the "if only I had time" list and catch up, but remember: be safe, be healthy, and be happy. Sometimes there can be good in change.
Although, Township offices are closed to the public, our Senior Services Coordinator is still responding to voicemail and email. Please note that during this time, senior bus services are currently suspended. If you have any questions regarding Cherry Hill Senior Services, please contact Gaye Pino by email or (856) 661-4800.
