A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo

Dear Neighbor:
I hope you all had a safe and healthy holiday.
Just as a reminder, as you clean up from your holiday festivities, remember that a number of items can be recycled either curbside in your big blue bin, or by dropping them off at the Department of Public Works located at 1 Perina Boulevard.
- Christmas trees can be recycled curbside as part of your weekly yard-waste pickup, or taken to the designated tree-drop location that is set up in the Public Works yard at 1 Perina Boulevard. Remember: Trees with tinsel/lights, and those that are wrapped in plastic bags will not be collected curbside. Artificial Christmas trees are considered bulk and are to be placed near the green bins- not inside of them.
- Old electronics and broken/unused Christmas lights are considered e-waste, and can't be recycled at the curb or in your blue bin. However, they can be dropped off at the e-waste shed in the Public Works yard.
- Cardboard, wrapping paper, and cards can be recycled in your big blue recycling bin on your regular trash day. But anything with glitter or foil belongs in the trash! Generally, the fancier the wrapping paper, the less recyclable it is. Cardboard must be broken down and placed in your can. Excess cardboard can be dropped off in two designated dumpsters to the rear of the Public Works yard.
These are just a few of the common holiday items that can be recycled in Cherry Hill. For more information, contact the Department of Public Works at (856) 424-4422.
And for those who celebrate, sending you warm wishes for a joyful Kwanzaa!
Please continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
|

Winter weather can bring heavy snow, icy streets and sidewalks, dangerous wind chills, and power outages. The Cherry Hill Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Public Works and Township administration monitors the forecast and will respond as needed as winter storms move through our area during the cooler months.
Below are a number of important tips and reminders that will help residents stay safe during a winter storm, and ensure our emergency crews can work as quickly and effectively as possible.
During a winter storm, please move all vehicles off the street to keep roads clear and allow better access for snow plows. Other impediments, including trash/recycling bins and basketball nets, must also be kept out of the roadway.
We ask that residents who do not need to travel this weekend stay home and off the roads - for your own safety and to allow our plow crews to work quickly.
- Staying off the road will allow our plows and emergency responders to operate quickly and effectively.
-
If driving is essential, please be conscious of road crews. Stay clear of plows and allow ample space between yourself and other vehicles.
- Drive slowly and with extreme caution, and allow extra time to reach your destination.
Any weather-related road restrictions, closings and cancellations will be updated on the Township website and social media pages as soon as the information becomes available. As always, call 9-1-1 to report an emergency. Power outages must be reported directly to PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734.
