A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo
Dear Residents:
As we continue to focus on the health and safety of our residents, Governor Murphy announced this week that face coverings are now required in outdoor public spaces when social distancing of six feet is not practicable. The Executive Order’s mandate excludes: immediate family members, caretakers, household members, or romantic partners, except where doing so would inhibit that individual’s health; children under two years of age; and situations where individuals cannot feasibly wear a face covering, such as when eating or drinking at outdoor dining areas.
On Monday, we announced the reopening of Township playgrounds in accordance Governor Murphy’s Executive Order No. 157. While this is a welcomed step in the right direction, it is important that we continue to practice social distancing while outdoors and wear masks when social distancing is not feasible.
As I've stated before, this pandemic knows no race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or age. We must stand together to ensure the safety of our entire community. Wearing a face covering correctly can dramatically decrease the release of droplets from people’s mouths, which can carry infectious particles. Please remember to cover both the nose & mouth, wash hands before putting on a mask, and wash the face covering after use.
Please continue to stay safe and be well.
Sincerely,

Township Playgrounds Reopen
In accordance with Gov. Murphy’s Executive Order No. 157, Cherry Hill Township has reopened playgrounds throughout town.
Residents are reminded to stay six feet apart whenever practicable and continue wearing proper face coverings where social distancing is not feasible.
The Township requests the cooperation of all residents and visitors in complying with these mandates so as to limit the spread of COVID-19 and allow these facilities to remain open.

Quarantine Advisory Issued for Individuals Traveling to New Jersey

Governor Murphy advised individuals traveling into New Jersey from states with significant community spread of COVID-19 to quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state.

Travelers and those residents that are returning from impacted states should self-quarantine at their home, hotel, or other temporary lodging. Individuals should leave the place of self-quarantine only to seek medical care/treatment or to obtain food and other essential items.

Mayor and Council attend dedication for beloved Cherry Hill resident
Over the weekend, Mayor Angulo, Council Vice President Bauerle, and Councilman Carter attended a private roadway dedication ceremony at Haddontowne Swim Club, held in honor of a beloved Cherry Hill resident – Kelly McNiff.
Kelly was a remarkable person and a dedicated volunteer. Through her tenacious personality and always-positive attitude, she moved and inspired everyone she met.
We are proud to see that Kelly’s contributions and service to Haddontowne will be remembered forever, as the driveway leading into the swim club will now be known as Kelly McNiff Drive.

Help Cherry Hill become nationally recognized as a NWF Habitat Community
The Cherry Hill Environmental Board would like to thank the many residents who have responded to our Wildlife Habitat initiative. We have partnered with the National Wildlife Federation and New Jersey Audubon Society, and are working toward certification as a nationally recognized Wildlife Habitat Community.
We are now a third of the way toward our goal, but we need your help! Do you have a patio or yard that provides food, shelter, and water for birds and valuable insects and amphibians? Help your community by certifying your property with the National Wildlife Foundation at NWF.com/certify
The application process is simple, quick, and can be a learning tool for you and your whole family. You may already have a wildlife friendly yard and not even know it! Find out at
NWF.org/garden-for-wildlife
Our birds and amphibians help us by eating insect and rodent pests. Pollinator insects and birds help us to enjoy plentiful gardens and farms. We can help them by replacing habitat that has been lost due to development. It's a win-win situation, and what's better than that?
If you are a school teacher or administrator, contact Barbara Patrizzi at:
barbarapatrizzi@gmail.com
to discuss how the Environmental Board can help you to certify your school grounds at no cost, while providing an educational experience for your students.
Again, a big "thank you!'' to all of the residents and businesses that have certified already. We appreciate your efforts to help Cherry Hill become nationally recognized as a NWF Habitat Community.
