A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo

Dear Neighbor:
As our children and parents prepare for the beginning of a new academic year next week, I wanted to wish all of our students, families, and teachers a successful start to your school year.
The last several months have been a challenging time for everyone. Although the beginning of this year will be unlike any we’ve previously experienced, the start of a new school year is always the perfect time for a fresh start—where you can showcase your hard work and determination.
Whether you are a student entering your last year of high school or a teacher starting your first day in the classroom – this is your year to succeed!
To all of our parents, children, teachers, administrators, and families - this year will certainly be a unique experience, but I know all of you are resilient and capable of amazing things.
On behalf of all of Cherry Hill Township and all of our Cherry Hill Council Members, we wish you the best of luck as you kick off the new school year.
Always remember, safety is paramount. Please continue to stay safe, wear a mask, and practice social distancing.
Sincerely,
|

Join Our Community Effort to Restore Native Wildlife
|
|
|
Laura Colau, of Cherry Valley, entices valuable mosquito eating dragonflies to her yard with simple bamboo stakes. These are favored perches for dragonflies, enabling them to easily spot their prey. Laura has seen the dragonflies in an obelisk, or handstand-like position atop the stakes. Dragonflies will often assume this pose to prevent overheating on sunny days.
Laura and her family have joined a township wide effort, initiated by the Cherry Hill Environmental Board, and have certified their yard as a National Wildlife Federation Wildlife Habitat. Every certified habitat will count toward our township's goal of becoming a nationally recognized NWF Wildlife Habitat Community; a distinction held by only 130 towns in the country. A healthy ecosystem, which supports native wildlife, not only gives us enjoyment but also helps to purify our waterways, reduce pest insect populations, and boost crop yields for our gardens and farms.
Will you join us? Visit www.NWF.org/Garden-for-Wildlife to find out how easy it is to provide habitat for wildlife. Even a patio or balcony can host a habitat for valuable pollinator species.
Certify your habitat at www.NWF.org/certify, and you will automatically be counted as part of our community wide effort. Thank you! And please help spread the word!
