On her tour of small businesses, Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton visited Aurora on Saturday, February 20. Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin joined her for lunch at Endiro Coffee as she learned more about Endiro's international business model with coffee farmers in Uganda. Irvin and Stratton both have the distinction of being the first Black person in their elected positions. Irvin serves on Stratton's Restore, Reinvest and Renew Program Board, and they also both lead similar commissions in the state. Lieutenant Governor Stratton is the Chair of the Illinois Commission on Women and Girls. Irvin is the Chief Commission of the Illinois Commission on the Social Status of Black Males.
