MAYOR'S UPDATE

From the desk of Mayor Rika Levin

During Women’s History Month, NYS Legislative Women's Caucus members honor distinguished women from their districts annually.

This year, Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg proudly honored the Village of Ossining’s Historian, Joyce Sharrock-Cole, for her numerous contributions to our community. Joyce traveled to Albany to join the Assemblywoman for a reception at the Governor's mansion and was recognized in the Assembly chamber.

Thank you, Assemblywoman Levenberg, for celebrating Joyce's contributions and accomplishments in expanding our knowledge of Ossining's, Westchester County's, and New York State's history.

The Taconic/Hudson Valley Region Youth Bureau Association held a "Breakfast/Recognition and Training Event on Tuesday, March 19.

The event's objective was to increase awareness of Youth Boards and civic engagement and advocacy for children, youth, and families across the region. The event also centered on improving understanding of Youth Boards and their role in the community, promoting civic engagement by encouraging stakeholders to inquire and join Youth Boards, and raising awareness of existing Youth Board members and their invaluable commitment to uplifting the work of Youth Bureaus.

During the event, Hudson Valley Youth Bureau Association members recognized Youth Board members for their efforts within their respective communities. At this event, Ossining’s Alice Joselow, who has worked tirelessly for decades to bring a youth bureau to Ossining, was recognized for her selfless contributions, time, expertise, and energy to ensure that the Ossining Youth Bureau can continue to thrive. Alice was not able to attend the event, so Village Manager Karen D'Attore, Youth Bureau Director Chima Monday, and Youth Advisory Board Chair Harry L. Campbell were able to accept this prestigious award on her behalf.
