The Mayors & Mayors ProTem who attended the September 11th forum asked that we host another one!

Hope you can join us October 2nd.

Calling all Mayors...

and Mayors ProTem in Texas

Ok, you’re the “Mayor”, now what?

Well, it can feel lonely at the top, but you’re not alone. We are providing an opportunity to listen, learn and share.

Few understand all that is involved in serving as Mayor of a Texas municipality. Is the Mayor just a ceremonial “Figurehead” or do they have “Real Power”?  Some authority and duties are spelled out in the “law”. Other functions are merely a matter of tradition, custom or common practice. There are over 1,200 cities in Texas, which means there are 1,200+ mayors guiding their communities in different ways.

Mastering Mayoring is an online conversation hosted by someone who walked the path successfully. It’s a guided discussion about Roles, Responsibilities, and Best Practices.  Each session, hosted by Connie Schroeder, will allow attendees to chat with a guest speaker to shed some light on the challenges of being Mayor and share tips for finding a better way to govern. City Managers, City Attorneys, City Secretaries and other city officials will offer their suggestions and expectations.
