Opportunities to Give Back
McCarthy & Cox Retirement Specialists, the McCarthy & Cox Cares Fund and the Union County Foundation (UCF) announce a joint effort to assist our neighbors devastated by Hurricane Ian in South Florida. “ FEMA experts report that Hurricane Ian’s will rank among our nation’s worst, with an estimated $10 billion-plus in uninsured property losses and evacuation orders that displaced more than 2.5 million people” explained Tom McCarthy, â€œAnd unfortunately, the property damage estimates as well as a death toll both continue to rise. While some homes were spared, many were not ,and this is where we all can all make a difference” McCarthy stated.

McCarthy & Cox will match up to $10,000 in donations designated for Florida relief and received by the Union County Foundation through Monday, October 24. 100% of the funds raised will be sent to Grace United Methodist Church to provide emergency assistance. “We’ve spoken with Pastor Jorge Acevedo, and learned that the church converted it’s Coral Gables location into a relief shelter, daily serving 100’s of displaced families with a warm meal, non- perishable food, water, shelter, and a place to stay while they get back on their feet” explained Jim Cox.

Donations can be made through the Union County Foundation either by mail, dropped off at the UCF office on North Main Street or via the McCarthy and Cox Cares Foundation Fund on the UCF website. More information can be found on the UCF website, www.unioncountyfoundation.org.
