McCarthy & Cox Retirement Specialists, the McCarthy & Cox Cares Fund and the Union County Foundation (UCF) announce a joint effort to assist our neighbors devastated by Hurricane Ian in South Florida. â FEMA experts report that Hurricane Ianâs will rank among our nationâs worst, with an estimated $10 billion-plus in uninsured property losses and evacuation orders that displaced more than 2.5 million peopleâ explained Tom McCarthy, âAnd unfortunately, the property damage estimates as well as a death toll both continue to rise. While some homes were spared, many were not ,and this is where we all can all make a differenceâ McCarthy stated.
McCarthy & Cox will match up to $10,000 in donations designated for Florida relief and received by the Union County Foundation through Monday, October 24. 100% of the funds raised will be sent to Grace United Methodist Church to provide emergency assistance. âWeâve spoken with Pastor Jorge Acevedo, and learned that the church converted itâs Coral Gables location into a relief shelter, daily serving 100âs of displaced families with a warm meal, non- perishable food, water, shelter, and a place to stay while they get back on their feetâ explained Jim Cox.
