How to Avoid a Scam
FTC Consumer Advice

It is not a secret that scammers are out there ready to make some quick money on a tricky scheme. Unfortunately, scammers target those of retirement age, making calls during the working hours hoping to catch their next victim at home. You don't have to fall victim to a scam though. Know these four signs to spot a scam and avoid it:

  1. Scammers PRETEND to be from an organization you know.
  2. Scammers say there’s a PROBLEM or a PRIZE.
  3. Scammers PRESSURE you to act immediately.
  4. Scammers tell you to PAY in a specific way.
