Park Rangers Joe Adams, Richard Meshke & Matt Hawkins pause while replacing steps on the trail.

Rangers renovate Kayak Point Park

to improve trails, picnic areas

Over the past few months park rangers remodeled and improved the trail systems at Kayak Point County Park.

The renovations began with ripping out 25-year-old, rotted and crooked wood steps leading to the beach. 170 steps were removed and replaced with new pressure-treated boards, along with new hand rails that line the trails.

The rangers are also repairing the old picnic tables with new and freshly stained boards. Hopefully, by the beginning of summer, brand-new picnic tables will be in all the shelters.
North Creek Park Boardwalk Closure
The Boardwalk will be closed from June 2nd through July 3rd as we prepare to begin phase 3 of the repair to the boardwalk.

The contractor is starting on the mainline boardwalk trail first which includes 25 sections. The mainline will be reopened once those sections are repaired. The remainder of the work is on the south dog leg, which includes 27 sections.

There should be no disturbance to the rest of the park during construction except materials coming and going. If you have questions or concerns, please contact
