Tune In for TV Tables

2nd Annual Designer Table Luncheon

You are invited to attend McCoy Farms & Gardens’ second spectacular decorated table event, TV TABLES. This extravaganza will take place in the historic Bachman-McCoy House on Thursday, September 25, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Early bird tickets are $50 each ($60 beginning on 9/2) and include lunch and complimentary mimosas.

This year's committee, led by Anne Leonard, Mary Catherine O'Kelley, and Annette Wildman, has been working tirelessly to create a program and menu that will delight all attendees. Interior designer Glynda Warren will be speaking on "The Anatomy of a Tablescape."

Last year, there were 12 holiday-inspired CELEBRATION TABLES, one for

each month of the year. This time we have 18 designer display tables! The themes for this year’s tables are inspired by vintage television shows from the 1950s to the 1980s, including I Love Lucy and Cheers. You will see tables set for the characters in Father Knows Best, Bonanza, Flipper, The Andy Griffith Show, Mr. Ed, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, I Dream of Jeannie, The Love Boat, Star TrekHappy Days, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Fantasy Island, Dynasty and, of course, The Real McCoys

The antique and vintage china exhibited on these tables primarily comes from sets donated to McCoy and features well-known manufacturers such as Haviland, Lenox, Pfaltzgraff, and Wedgwood. The sets, along with many other desirable china and crystal items, will be available for silent auction bids.

TV Tables is proudly sponsored by Rent-All Store, where you can find all your party rental needs and more.

Seating is limited, and last year’s event sold out quickly. Be sure to purchase your tickets early by clicking the button below or by visiting the McCoy website at www.mccoyfarmandgardens.org, under Community Events.

Picture-Perfect Grounds

Ready for Every Event

The McCoy grounds are looking as good as ever, thanks to our hardworking volunteers and some discounted services from local businesses. In addition to the yearly fence bleaching—thank you, Chris Knight, for your hard work on this projectthe Bachman-McCoy House and the smokehouse have also been spruced up. Chris Hanson Painting was hired to touch up the trim, siding, and columns. The crew went the extra mile by replacing a few pieces of siding damaged by squirrels and also rebuilding a door frame. True Shine Window Washers also gave McCoy a special rate in support of our community gem. Volunteers have been working with renewed fervor to make the house and grounds look their best for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the McCoy Farm & Gardens nonprofit entity. Board member Fred Wildman says this is the first exterior house painting since the nonprofit began managing the property in 2015. Fred and volunteer Randy Walker have also rebuilt one of the three-paneled Carriage House doors.

Looking Backward

This photo of Sally McCoy, daughter of Martha and Tom McCoy, was recently discovered in the Walden's Ridge files at the Chattanooga Public Library's Local History department. The photo was originally published in the Chattanooga Times on April 25, 1953, and accompanied an article announcing a tour sponsored by the Chattanooga Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities, which included the Bachman-McCoy house.
