General Membership Meeting
Our next Alumni General Membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 2018, 6:00 pm in the McDonogh 35 Library, 4000 Cadillac Street, located on the first floor. As always, please contact fellow Roneagles and either bring them with you or encourage them to attend and become an official paid member of the McDonogh 35 Alumni Association. Honoring Distinguished Roneagles and Unveiling of Wall of Fame
On February 23, 2018 at 6 pm, the McDonogh 35 Senior High School Centennial Celebration Committee will honor a number of graduates - for their personal and professional achievements that represent the legacy for which McDonogh 35 Senior High School is noted. Also, the school library will be dedicated to Ernest N. Morial (Class of 1947).

Roneagle in the Spotlight
Rodrick E. Points
(born May 1971) is a native of New Orleans, La. and is a 1989 graduate of McDonogh #35 Senior High. He has a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Xavier University of Louisiana, an MBA from Amberton University, and a DBA from Walden University.
He pursued the DBA in Leadership program not for a title or hedonistic purposes, but because he wanted to expand his leadership knowledge; a talent he strongly believes very few people possess.
He currently resides in Grand Prairie, TX (a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth).
Points heads his own management-consulting firm (II the Point, LLC.), which helps business owners and professionals understand and implement the full concept of organizational leadership as well as equip them with the necessary tools to help their businesses and employees grow. Those tools will include courses in Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion, Customer Service, Conflict Management Resolution, Effective Communication, and Organization Management.
He sits on several Boards of Directors, and is currently the president of two alumni associations.
He sharpened his leadership skills as a member of the One Hundred Black Men of Greater Dallas, Inc., a non-profit, mentoring organization whose vision "seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing our diverse talents to create environments where our children are motivated to achieve, and to empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve." As a member for the past 16 years, he chaired and served on several committees, which ultimately lead to him being elected as president.
He believes leadership, especially effective leadership, involves equipping individuals to meet challenges by helping them reach beyond themselves and their previous ways of working and thinking to achieve their highest potential and making an impact on their organizations and their employees. Leadership and management are often confused and for that reason, the terms are used interchangeably. Leadership involves and evokes constant change and improvement. It also incorporates motivation, positive encouragement, and guidance. The simple difference is leaders make decisions while managers carry out decisions.

The Association's Fiscal Year is from October 1- September 30. You may now pay your 2017-18 Alumni Dues via PayPal. Yearly Membership dues are $35 and Lifetime Membership dues are $350. Lifetime Membership dues may also be paid in five $70 installment payments. Also when you pay please put your graduating year in the comment section (and, if you are paying with your business account, your first & last name as well). Please pay by clicking on the appropriate PayPal button below.
Annual Dues - $35.00

Lifetime Membership - $350.00
(includes Alumni Lapel Pin and Lifetime Membership Card)
Lifetime Installment Payments- Five $70.00 payments
(includes Alumni Lapel Pin and Lifetime Membership Card)
*Pins can be picked up at General Meetings in New Orleans, Dallas, or DC. Lifetime Membership cards will be mailed to the address on file within 30 days.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS MUST BE PAID IN THE SAME FISCAL YEAR. IF INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS ARE NOT RECEIVED BY SEPT. 30, 2018, THE PAYMENTS MADE, LESS 17-18, DUES WILL BE REALLOCATED TO SCHOLARSHIPS.
