Glen,
I grew up in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains. Our little valley was surrounded by mountains on the east, on the west and to the north and south. My little valley has grown significantly in the past 65+ years and much has changed in the small town where I grew up, but one thing has remained; The shadows cast by the majestic Rocky Mountains.
This Memorial Day weekend I consider the magnificent Shadows that have been cast by those who have given so much for our freedoms; those incredible men and women who have literally sacrificed life and limb for our Freedoms and our way of life. I am grateful beyond words for the legacy and shadow cast by all those brave souls, (including my dad who served in the South Pacific during WWII) who have served and continue to serve to protect, guard and defend our precious freedoms.
Have you ever paused and wondered about the Shadow/Influence you’re casting on a daily basis. The shadows we cast as individuals will touch multiple people; and we may never become aware of many that are influenced by our daily actions and shadows. Ask yourself…what type of shadows am I casting?
When it comes to managing your Corporate Risk, Business Owners and Senior Executives cast a significant and imposing shadow. All eyes are on: What You Say, How You Act, What You Promise, and How You Reward and Hold Accountable; to see that they are all consistent with each other.
Happy Memorial Day, please take some time to remember and honor those who have served and if you would like help broadening your Risk Management Shadow please give me call.
