Public Meetings For Campus Improvements
McKenzie families,

We had a great first public meeting, but we really need your input as we look to our campus' future. 

For more than a year, the district has been working to assess and identify campus needs through inspections, assessments, and community input. We understand that after the fire, the needs of our community may have changed.

Over the next two months, we will be holding virtual public meetings to prioritize identified needs for our campus and listen for needs not yet been identified.

If a bond was to pass in an upcoming election, we want to make sure we are making the most of taxpayer dollars as well as available Oregon School Capital Improvement Matching grant funds. Your input will help us understand where we should be focusing our efforts. 

The next virtual meetings will be held on February 1 and February 15.

School Re-Opening Information

Our school re-opening committee will meet multiple times in the next two weeks so we can have an educated conversation about the safest way to welcome students back into our classrooms.

The State of Oregon has created standards for us to follow in alignment with the Ready Schools, Safe Learners Guidance.

Our committee will make a recommendation based on your survey feedback. The district administrators and board will then make a decision on the best way for our district to proceed. Our district is faced with additional challenges in returning because of the wildfire damage and we are taking all of your concerns into account.

We will have a better idea of how our district will proceed by the second week of February and additional communication will follow.
If you are the parent or guardian of a student who is currently enrolled in the McKenzie School, you can apply for up to $200 to support the student’s learning.

For nearly five decades, Jenny Stamatis has been a part of the Eagle family.
She graduated from McKenzie in 1974. She worked for our district for 25 years and spent 22 years driving buses for our team!
She says she has loved connecting with students over the years and McKenzie will always hold a special place in her heart.
Please help us congratulate Jenny on her retirement.
Oregon Business and Industry Grant $10,000 from Wildfire Relief Fund

The Oregon Business and Industry Foundation has provided McKenzie with $10,000 to help make repairs to the New Gym following the fire. We appreciate the generosity of the OBI Foundation and its members!

Applications must be submitted to the district office by March 10, 2021, at 4:00 PM.                                      

Candidates will be interviewed, and the new board member will be seated at the school board meeting on March 17, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. during an open session

If the number of candidates exceeds four (4), a special board meeting will be scheduled to interview the candidates.
