NEW After-School Dismissal Procedure-(Car Pick-Ups Only)

COMING SOON!! In an effort to improve safety for all students, McKinley STEM will be implementing the SmartDISMISSAL software program for after school dismissal. Families of students in grades 1-4 will be receiving 2 hang tags for your family to use that indicates your assigned Family ID Number. Please have these hang-tags displayed from your rear view mirror during dismissal and provide a hang tag to those authorized persons who regularly pick up your students. Additional hang tags may be available for those needing more than two. Corresponding tags will be placed on student backpacks when we launch the program.

Although the first few days of the program will be a time of learning and adjusting for all of us, we are confident that the Smart DISMISSAL program will provide the safest method for student dismissal.

Additional Notes about the "new" dismissal procedures:

  • Please be patient. These procedures are new to everyone, and it will take a little time to adjust. Student safety is the priority-efficiency is a bonus and will come with practice!
  • Please be kind to the teachers on the sidewalk and to other parents.
  • If you carpool with another family regularly, please provide them with a hang-tag for your family number. Additional tags are available in the office
  • Younger siblings will be dismissed with older siblings at the front doors.
  • Please do not exit your vehicle or walk up to the doors.
