FRESH FILMMAKERS + SCRIPT TO SCREEN COMBO PRODUCTION GRANT
IFP MN has teamed up with MCTC and the Screenwriters' Workshop to offer an updated Fresh Filmmakers Production Grant. Aspiring directors can bid to direct one of the three winning scripts from the Script to Screen competition, with production expenses covered by MCTC and the Twin Cities production community!

IMS Films is proud to invite media creatives to participate in a one-of-a-kind filmmaking event celebrating the power of great design.
IMS Films is providing the creative community a singular opportunity to converge our collective talents in the areas of advertising, film, and design. International Market Square will host their second annual Film Showcase this fall where the selected film projects will be featured.
Five selected directors will have the opportunity to create content inspired by IMS's "Live Exceptionally Through Design" brand platform. From buildings and landscapes to interiors and accessories, "Live Exceptionally' is an anthem for those who wish to create a distinct and individual lifestyle through design.

2012 OUT Twin Cities Minnesota Video Contest!
Contest begins: Monday, April 9th 2012.

There are Two categories with Two chances to win. You can enter both or choose just one category. The video must be no longer than five minutes in length (Total Running Time). All contest entries must be made by a Minnesota resident and YOUTH may enter only with a signed authorization letter from their parent and or legal guardian, which needs to include the parent or legal guardian's address and contact info. All contestants must be in attendance to win Sunday, June 3rd at St. Anthony Main Theatre.

ASFF 2012 takes place in York, UK from November 8 - 11. The screenings will cover a wide variety of genres and filmic styles, including: drama, documentary, animation, comedy, music video, thriller, experimental and artists' film. The films will be showcased across 15 iconic locations in the city, from medieval halls to boutique cinemas and in addition to four days of screenings there will also be a series of master classes, workshops and networking with leading industry figures.
The winner will also receive approximately $775 among other prizes and screenings at a number of other UK festivals. The runner-up will receive approximately $390. A shortlist of finalists will be included on the ASFF Sampler DVD, which will be distributed with the December 2012 issue of Aesthetica Magazine, an international arts and culture publication. Flyway Film Festival 2012

Flyway, a premier destination festival for regional, domestic U.S. and international emerging and independent filmmakers on the banks of the Mississippi River, accepts short and feature-length films for the following categories: narrative, documentary, and Wisconsin/Minnesota Showcase. This year, it is anticipated that more than 70 films will be programmed between three venues, with many filmmakers and other industry professionals in attendance to interact with audiences via workshops, Q&As, and other social networking events.
The 2012 Flyway Film Festival will accept free submissions (electronic submission form completed and DVD screeners postmarked) until the final deadline of August 15, 2012. For added convenience to filmmakers online entry form is now available through both flywayfilmfestival.org and withoutabox.com.

The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation for International Photography is once again seeking entries for outstanding work in global and social documentary photo reportage. Covering such pressing issues as health, poverty, oppression, war, famine, religious/political persecution and upheaval, human migration and immigration, the landless and much more. Photographers of all nationalities who are 18 years of age or older are encouraged to apply. The photographer whose proposal is selected to receive the $5,000 USD grant will be immediately contacted, followed by a public press announcement to be made sometime in late July.

Cinema and Civics wants to show your short film this summer in Stevens Square Park!
Currently collecting submission for Minnesota Short Film night, which takes place on Wednesday July 11th. Registration for the Minneapolis 48 Hour Film Project is now open!
This year Towle Neu and Ryan Strandjord are back to produce the competition and have been putting together plans to make it even more spectacular than last year. They'll be hosting several social mixers around the metro area, a casting session with a local agency, and a panel discussion in May at IFP Minnesota. They're contacting new sponsors and looking to expand on the $4,000 in prizes they gave out last year. The music sharing program will also become more robust, so this year team producers will have access to even more local music to use in their films. No film competition provides even close to as many resources as they do, and by submitting your finished film you're guaranteed to have it premiered in front of hundreds of people at the Riverview theater. 2012 Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival
April 12-May 3
The largest annual film event in the Midwest is returning to the five screens of the St. Anthony Main Theatre. The program will include some 250 documentary, narrative, and short films from more than 60 countries, visits from numerous international filmmakers and celebrities, and a host of gala events, parties, and receptions. The Festival lineup includes a Spotlight on the Middle East highlighting the current rich mix of films coming out of Israel, many Arab countries including those in North Africa, and Turkey, long known as the gateway from East to West - curated by Alissa Simon Senior Programmer at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

White Rabbit accepted to National Youth Film Festival IFP member, Whitney Mornson's short film, White Rabbit is an official selection of the 2012 National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY). It was selected as one of 225 films from 30 U.S. states and over 20 countries that will be screened at this year's festival. NFFTY is the largest youth film festival in the world and includes films from directors 22 years of age and under, panels, workshops, and networking events. My film is about a young couple who face a problem when their dog Java shows up at their doorstep with their neighbors' pet rabbit - dead. The festival is April 26-29 in Seattle.
