The difference a year makes. The Inland Empire’s Loss is the Southern Cone’s gain. Spot market capacity trying to get out of LA Ontario trades at a $817 discount to contract capacity, while in Laredo McAllen that capacity trades at a $93 premium to contract carriers. Line haul rates are flat with negative pressure in California, and up with modest pressure in Texas, despite the narratives that permeate our industry news cycle.
