INFO SESSION

CITGO INFORMATION SESSION CONNECTS STUDENTS WITH INDUSTRIAL PROFESSIONALS

The Department of Engineering and Computer Science welcomed CITGO to campus for an Information Session, giving students in Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering the opportunity to learn more about the company and hear directly from its engineers.

During the session, students explored co-op opportunities for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027 and had the chance to connect with industry professionals. The strong student turnout and engagement made the event a great opportunity to learn more about engineering careers and gain insight into the industry.

Thank you to the CITGO team for visiting McNeese and sharing their experiences and career opportunities with our students.

CAREER EXPO HIGHLIGHT

MCNEESE CAREER EXPO BRINGS STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES TOGETHER!

The McNeese Career Expo brought students and employers together for an afternoon of networking and career exploration at the MREC. With more than 124 companies and 300 recruiters in attendance, students had the opportunity to connect with employers, learn about career opportunities, and begin building professional relationships.

Thank you to all the students, recruiters, and participating companies who helped make the event a success. The Career Expo was a great opportunity for the McNeese community to make new connections and explore what lies ahead.

PREVIEW DAY RECAP

FIRST FALL PREVIEW DAY

Engineering and Computer Science students and faculty showcased their projects and connected with prospective students and their families during McNeese’s first Fall Preview Day. The event offered a chance to highlight the department's programs, hands-on learning opportunities and the work happening across ENCS.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the day a success.

HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES

REMEMBERING HARIKRISHNAN RADHAKRISHNA PILLAI

The Department of Engineering and Computer Science at McNeese State University mourns the loss of Harikrishnan Radhakrishna Pillai, a chemical engineering student whose time at McNeese left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Harikrishnan was part of the McNeese community for several years, first earning a bachelor’s degree in biology before pursuing a second degree in chemical engineering in 2023. He contributed to McNeese as a teaching assistant, bookstore employee, and athletic assistant, bringing warmth and positive energy to the campus community while building valuable research and industry experience. He was working toward his goal of becoming a chemical engineer, a future that held so much promise.

His loss is deeply felt throughout our department and the wider McNeese community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, classmates, faculty, and everyone whose life he touched. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
