McNeese Names New Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management

Dr. Frederick "Chip" LeMieux has been named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management at McNeese. Dr. LeMieux has been serving in the interim role since July 2021. His appointment has received approval from the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

McNeese Football to Host "Victory Day" for Special Needs Children

The McNeese football team will host its first "Victory Day" in Cowboy Stadium Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 9-11 a.m. This event will provide cognitively and physically impaired children ages 8-18 the opportunity to play football or cheer, as well as participate in several game-day activities.

McNeese Hosts Upcoming Play - "August: Osage County"

McNeese will host the upcoming theatre production of "August: Osage County" by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Tracy Letts July 27-31 in Tritico Theatre. All performances are at 7 p.m. except for Sunday's show, which is at 2 p.m.

Alumni Spotlight

Stefan Borssen, a 2018 liberal arts graduate, has been named the Executive Director of the Imperial Calcasieu Museum (ICM). Stefan has had exhibition displays within the Lake Area over the past five years. His work has been featured in exhibits at McNeese and in collaborative curations for the Henning Cultural Center and the ICM. He has held solo shows at the Art Associates Gallery of Lake Charles and Houston area galleries and has collections spanning from Florida to Washington state.

Former McNeese cheerleading captain and 2022 English graduate Jordyn Knighton has been selected to be a part of the Saints Crewe Cheer, the official cheerleading and entertainment team for the New Orleans Saints.

Paul Rainwater Donates to McNeese Soccer

Paul Rainwater, a 1985 McNeese graduate and founder of Rainwater Consulting LLC, has donated $10,000 to the McNeese Women's Soccer Team in honor of its resilient nature during the Lake Charles area's four natural disasters in 2020 and 2021 and the COVID-19 pandemic.
