April 1, 2020
Mr. Dave Mueller
Principal's Corner

I miss seeing our students. The Governor's order to keep schools closed through April 30 means that I'll continue to miss seeing them. Student Council leaders negotiated two senior privileges scheduled to begin today: any hair color for women and facial hair for men. Seniors, please send photos of your new look to Mrs. Kapp for inclusion in the Rocket Daily News!

Thanks to the parents and students who responded last week to our 30-second survey about remote learning thus far. The great majority indicated satisfaction with communication by teachers, workload, and overall well-being. Please communicate any concerns via email to teachers, counselors, or administrators. Thanks to students and teachers for your efforts and Rocket spirit!

A parent reported that a student has been diagnosed with pertussis / whooping cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease. Please be alert for symptoms of pertussis in addition to COVID-19.

On campus, deep cleaning and sanitizing continue, and the wings of the Convent Building are sporting a badly needed new roof.

Prayers and best wishes as we continue to care for ourselves and each other.

AP Testing Updates
Due to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, the College Board has begun making changes to the AP tests for this school year. Testing will be changed from in-person to online testing, and will be shortened to only one Free Response Question (FRQ) and no multiple choice, set to take approximately 45 minutes. Similarly College Board is hosting free online review courses each day and these can be found at:  https://www.youtube.com/user/advancedplacement and the schedule of each course is listed in this PDF . To find more information regarding the AP testing and the changes to AP tests, please visit:  https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates

As we await more updates from College Board, we ask that you please hold any requests for cancellation or refund until after new testing dates are released on April 3. At that time, we will release more information about how and when to cancel a test and receive a refund if your students' tests have already been paid. Thank you for your patience in what we are sure is an extremely stressful time regarding these courses and tests.
