Me and You

Join us this Saturday October 24 from 4-6 pm for Me and You, a conversation with the artists of Tandem: 20 Years of 13FOREST. For this special twentieth anniversary exhibition, we asked groups of our artists to work together on a collaborative project. Each group approached this task differently, and found ways to combine their mediums and styles into single or complementary works of art. On Saturday several of the collaborators will discuss their process, but we will also be adding another layer of collaboration to the show. Eden Rayz, a composer, cellist, instrument designer and extreme vocalist known for immersive performances, will improvise an accompaniment to the works on display. Rayz collaborated with one of our exhibitions last year, Resting Place, and we are thrilled to have her back to add another special element to this collaborative exhibition.

You and Me

Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend for our first round of artist talks for Tandem. We were very pleased to be joined by three of our pairs, Nina Wishnok and Robert Maloney (left), Lindsey Kocur and Yuko Oda (bottom left), and Deborah Peeples and Kathryn Geismar (bottom right). We were fascinated to hear about their different approaches to working collaboratively and how the process has influenced their work going forward.

Just in from the Cape

Gallery owner Marc Gurton was recently visiting with longtime friend of the gallery Susan Kurtzman, owner of Jobi Pottery (below, left). Susan showed off her molds in her Truro studio and Marc brought back some great new pieces of the classic Cape Cod pottery.

Los Angeles, Yoko Ono and All of Us

Gallery owners Marc Gurton and Jim Kiely recently traveled to Los Angeles where they managed to visit no less than five of the area's renowned museums, including the recently opened David Geffen Galleries at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the brand spanking new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Jim is a huge fan of Yoko Ono and luckily was able to catch the tail end of Music of the Mind, a major retrospective of her work at The Broad. Read his thoughts here.
