No summer program in 2020!
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Haddam Historical Society will not be offering its summer program “A Week in the Life of an Early American Child”. Because of the close quarters in the museum and planned activities, it will be difficult to meet state guidelines for social distancing. We hope to return in 2021.

Thank You
Stephanie and Emily!
We would like to thank out-going board members Stephanie Denkowicz and Emily Smith for their service as directors for the Haddam Historical Society. Stephanie and her husband, Aydin Caginalp, have frequently hosted events and tours at their lovely home and she has assisted with events, programs, collections and numerous other important aspects of the organization.

Emily has most recently served as secretary of the board (applause) and she and her family have contributed to the society in a variety of ways including hosting events, sharing artistic talents, and volunteering at many events. We deeply appreciate their service, dedication and support of the society and museum. THANK YOU!

Can You Figure Out???

These photos of Haddam buildings are from the WPA House Survey.

The WPA House Survey", the Census of Old Buildings in Connecticut, 1934-1937 was a Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) project. Survey forms provide descriptions of nearly 5,000 buildings. Photographs were taken of most buildings and clipped to the survey forms. Some forms also include sketches of interior and/or exterior architectural details and a brief history of the building.

Can you guess which houses these are? They are all still standing and most look the same.
