Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! After a summer apart, it is exciting to have students returning to the classrooms. The majority of our Meadowview classrooms, including those on the main Packard campus and those located at Potterville Elementary and Middle Schools, start school on August 21. Our Eaton Rapids High School and Union Street classes, as well as those located at the Creative Pulp Storefront in Charlotte, start school on August 28.
If you have not yet completed the 2023-24 School Year Enrollment packet, please do so as soon as possible. You should have received an invitation from FinalForms to complete the online enrollment packet. You will notice the free/reduced price meals forms are not included this year since the the Michigan School Meals program was signed into law and allows for all public school students to eat breakfast and lunch at school for free..
We look forward to an exciting year ahead!
Dr. Sarah Parker

Farewell from Ms. Longshore | |
Dear Meadowview Families,
I want to share with you the bittersweet news that I have accepted a position working with the center-based schools for Ingham Intermediate School District. This new position will allow for some additional flexibility to allow me to “be mom”.
Still, I am heartbroken to be leaving Meadowview. My three years at Meadowview have been some of the most rewarding and enjoyable of my career. I cannot thank the students, families, and staff at Meadowview enough for their partnership, passion, and dedication.
The team approach and unwavering focus on what is best for students is an asset that helps Meadowview School provide an outstanding education to our students in a safe and caring environment. I will miss coming to school and working with our students and families everyday, but I know Dr. Sarah Parker will continue to provide excellent leadership to our Meadowview team and our teaching and support staff will continue to work alongside our students to help them reach their goals.
While Eaton RESA works through the selection process to hire a new administrator, Dr. Sarah Parker will be handling all matters related to Meadowview School’s onsite and offsite programs. Although I won’t be seeing you every day, please know that I will always consider Meadowview my family and I will be thinking of you. I wish you all a wonderful start to the 2023-24 school year and many more exciting and successful years to come
Sincerely,
Ms. Longshore

| Special Education Millage | |
On November 7, Eaton County residents will be asked to vote on a special education millage that will provide additional funds to support students with disabilities.
Local school districts are mandated by law to provide special education programs and services. However, federal, state and local revenues do not adequately fund special education programs and services. This means that schools utilize general education funds to offset the cost of required special education needs.
If this proposed millage passes, the cost to homeowners would be .9 mills, or approximately $7.50/month or $90/year for a home with a market value of $200,000 (or taxable value of $100,000). This proposed millage would generate $3 million a year for the next 10 years reducing the shortfall, but not completely closing the gap, in special education funding in Eaton County.
