Principal's Note

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! After a summer apart it is exciting to have students returning to the classrooms. The majority of our Meadowview classrooms, including those on the main Packard campus and those located at Potterville Elementary and Middle Schools, started school on August 22. Our Eaton Rapids High School and Union Street classes, as well as those located at the Creative Pulp Storefront in Charlotte, started school on August 29.

If you have not yet completed the 22-23 School Year Enrollment packet, please do so as soon as possible. The enrollment forms and school calendar can be found on our Meadowview Schools website.

Take special note of the household eligibility forms for free/reduced price meals. With changes in funding, several schools are no longer able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students.

COVID-19 Protocols

As schools return to session, we wanted to provide the most up-to-date protocols regarding COVID-19. In March, we updated our processes for those testing positive and those who had been exposed to COVID-19 following guidance from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). There has not been additional guidance released from MDHHS as of yet. In the event of changes to the guidance, the Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) will provide updates and we will share that information with staff and families.

Current guidance:

For individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or are presumed positive for COVID-19:

A student or staff member who tests positive, should isolate at home for five days after onset of symptoms and return to school/work location if fever-free and symptoms have improved on Day 6 and wear a mask on days 6-10.

Students and staff exposed to COVID-19:

In their household may continue school/work uninterrupted so long as they are symptom-free AND get tested 3-7 days following exposure or if symptoms develop AND follow BEDHD's "mask to stay" option for days 1-10 after their last exposure.
At school or in the community may continue school uninterrupted so long as they are symptom-free AND monitor for symptoms (AND get tested if symptoms develop).

It is important that families and staff continue to report positive cases of any communicable disease, including COVID-19, to their program administrator or principal. Eaton RESA will communicate with the local health department about any outbreaks of a communicable disease within our school buildings/programs.

Safety in our schools is of the utmost importance. To that end, the Eaton County Prosecutor is continuing to partner with school districts across Eaton County to address threats against schools.

Join Our Team!

Meadowview School and Eaton Great Start Readiness Program are both in search of qualified individuals to fill open positions as paraprofessionals. Parents, caregivers, and community members are encouraged to apply for open positions and share this information with friends and family who may be interested in applying as well.

Paraprofessionals work with teachers to provide instructional, behavioral, and other support to students in and outside of the classroom, often working one-on-one with students. Pay rates begin at $15.26/hour and both full and substitute positions are available. Parents and guardians are not permitted to work in the classroom of their child and will be placed in classrooms based on position openings.
