WELCOME BACK!

RLA REOpening Date
Wed 2/17/2021

Beginning this week, Rancho Los Alamitos is excited to safely welcome volunteers and visitors back to the site. We will continue to follow government safety guidelines for museums, aquariums, and zoos to protect the health and wellbeing of our volunteers, staff, and visitors.
With all the new updates and regulations, we will not be operating exactly how we operated in 2020. We are adopting new protocols based on new knowledge and new rules that prioritize everyone's safety.

To volunteer you must:
SHIFTS AVAILABLE THIS WEEK!
Please use VICnet or contact us to schedule a volunteer shift.
You may sign up for shifts in VICnet or contacting us, and shifts will be confirmed by email for those who have completed the updated training.

Thank you so much for your continued dedication to helping the Rancho reopen safely and continue to serve the public! We appreciate the time and talents of all our Volunteers, including those who are planning to return to volunteering during these COVID-19 regulated times, and those who are continuing to shelter at home. Your health and safety are our top priority, and we respect your decision-making.

See the Looking Ahead section below for more
details on signing up for volunteer shifts!

We will be watching the weather this spring!

If there are high winds, or if it's below 60-degrees or over 60% chance of rain, we'll close the Rancho for the day to keep you and our visitors safe. We'll contact you if we have to close the Rancho due to the weather.

Sending a note:

For our volunteers who know and worked with former Rancho Public Programs & Events Associate, Michael Powers, there is a get-well card for her on the folding table in the main area of the ground floor of the Rancho Center.

Planning for the Year Ahead
The Rancho's Education, Programs, and Development staff have been hard at work planning for the coming year! We are developing a robust schedule of programs for 2020, rooted in women's history.
We welcome your creative energy!

We are currently seeking a Public Programs Volunteer Representative to sit on the VSC Steering Committee, and Volunteers to join Program Committees for programs throughout the year.

Additionally, we are seeking volunteers who are interested in supporting an upcoming cooking workshop. We are looking for folks to
  • Sew Rancho logos on aprons
  • Bake with kids (your own) on camera

Please email Ambyr or Katie if you are interested in joining a program development committee or to work on projects as we gear up to invite guests to explore our history and connect visitors with contemporary conversations.
