On behalf of the School Board and the District, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support by the community of the passage of Measure E. While the results still need to be certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, as of the June 29 election day, 74.17% of the voters had voted to renew the measure, much more than the required two-thirds. With this clear message, we can be assured of long-term local stable funding necessary to support our programs, teachers and students. With this funding, the District can continue its mission to deliver excellence in education.
This election was a testament to our great community and the importance of volunteerism and commitment. The groundswell of support was tremendous and there are numerous people and organizations to thank for their invaluable efforts and assistance. Just to name a few -- Nam Jack and her committee who worked tirelessly with stakeholders to energize the community in support of our schools. A special thanks to the San Marino Schools Foundation and San Marino PTAs for their financial pledges to the District should the measure not have passed.
I am so proud of how we all came together with the common goal of ensuring a world class education for our students. We are unbelievably fortunate to live in this District.
We look forward to a highly successful re-opening of our wonderful schools in August.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Shelley Ryan
