Outdoors sportsmen and women can explore over 100 lakes, numerous streams, the Muskegon River and thousands of acres of state land. From lake finders and state maps to where you can purchase your licenses, the Mecosta County Visitors Bureau have all the details you have been hunting for in the great outdoors.
No matter what time of year it is or how experienced of an angler you are, you are sure to enjoy an adventure here in the greater Big Rapids area. From tip ups in the winter months to trolling in the spring or just kicking back and relaxing in the summer months to see where the current takes you. Once you experience fishing in Mecosta County you’ll be hooked.
| | Both the amateur and pro golfer won’t be disappointed at any of our local greens and fairways. Mecosta County is home to both PGM and PGS rated courses in addition to Michigan’s Golf Hall of Fame. When the courses are closed for the winter season you can still enjoy the Ken Janke Sr. Golf Learning Center at Ferris State University's Katke Golf Course. This facility includes: four TrackMan golf simulators, three heated indoor hitting bays and an indoor putting green available for player practice and instruction. |
