Looking Ahead to MedChi’s 2026 Annual Meeting & Fall House of Delegates

MedChi's 2026 Annual Meeting and Fall House of Delegates on October 10 is quickly approaching. The keynote session of this year’s meeting, “The Future of Maryland’s AHEAD Model," offers an opportunity to examine where Maryland’s health care system is headed and what that means for physicians and their patients.

The conversation features three speakers with different perspectives to Maryland’s evolving healthcare landscape. William Henderson, Principal Deputy Director of Medical Economics & Data Analytics at the Health Services Cost Review Commission, Abid Khan, Division Director of the State & Population Health Group at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation, and Farzaneh L. Sabi, M.D., Associate Medical Director of Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, will bring their individual experiences and perspectives to the conversation.

Earlier in the morning, there will be a bonus session on "The Shift to Value-Based Care: Why EQIP Matters". This session will share how Maryland's Episode Quality Improvement Program can support your practice as healthcare continues to move toward value-based care.

The two educational sessions will be followed by the business meeting of the House of Delegates, with awards, elections, organizational reports, and the Reference Committee’s report on the agenda.

We look forward to welcoming MedChi members from across Maryland on October 10.

Governor Moore Announces New AI Framework

Governor Moore announced a new AI framework outlining his administration’s core principles — centered on Maryland communities, workers, and children — for the responsible development, deployment, and regulation of artificial intelligence (AI), and for equipping Maryland’s workforce to thrive alongside it.

In the absence of federal guardrails around this rapidly developing technology, Governor Moore’s AI principles are grounded in safeguards to mitigate the risks of AI, while ensuring the technology serves the people of Maryland.

Governor Moore’s agenda builds off the standards outlined in his 2024 Executive Order, the Artificial Intelligence Governance Act of 2024, and the State of Maryland’s Responsible AI Policy.
