MedMen New York Introduces New Product Line

MedMen has introduced LuxLyte, its new line of high grade medical marijuana products, to the New York market. Earlier this year, MedMen acquired and took over management of Bloomfield Industries, one of only five licensed medical marijuana businesses currently operating in the state. The first priority for MedMen was to improve the quality and selection of products available to patients by upgrading cultivation and production  operations.

In late July, the first shipments of LuxLyte sub-lingual tinctures began arriving at MedMen dispensaries in Lake Success, Syracuse and Williamsville. A fourth dispensary is planned for Manhattan. The tinctures come in five formulations of THC to CBD ratio; from a virtually pure CBD (0:1) product to the highest THC concentration (100:1). The drops contain 5 percent cannabinoid concentrate and 95 percent MCT oil for easy absorption. Vaporizing pens with the same five formulations are scheduled to arrive by next month, followed by gel capsules.

"Our goal as always is to provide the highest quality products in a safe and welcoming environment no matter where we operate," said MedMen COO and Co-Founder Andrew Modlin.

MedMen cultivates its own selective cannabis strains at its indoor facility in Utica and uses the latest in CO2 supercritical fluid extraction methods to extract terpenes and phytocannabinoids (THC, CBD).  The terpenes and phytocannabinoids are then combined into distinct formulations designed to provide the highest therapeutic effect.
Expanding the Talent Pool

MedMen recently expanded its executive ranks with the addition of two high profile hires. Kate Denton is MedMen's new chief marketing officer, and James Parker has joined the Firm's capital arm as its chief operating officer.

Ms. Denton brings more than a decade of experience overseeing marketing and brands in the consumer goods and entertainment industries for giants like Pepsico, Kraft Foods and Capitol Music Group (CMG), a Universal Music Group company. Mr. Parker is a s easoned financial executive with extensive, high level experience in strategic overhaul, financial planning and forecasting.

They join a growing roster of top talent at the Firm, which has gone from 15 employees at the end of 2015 to more than 170 workers today. In recent months, MedMen also has hired Zeeshan Hyder as its vice president of investments and Stéphanie Van Hassel as its director of investor relations. Mr. Hyder holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business and brings nearly a decade of experience evaluating transactions for the likes of Citigroup, and The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. Ms. Van Hassel has a decade of experience in investor relations, most recently as co-head of investor services at New York-based Atlantic Investment Management.
