Medeba - Cold and Snow this Christmas

Dear Friends,

Once again, as the year draws to a close, I am reflecting on God’s goodness to Medeba through all of you. I am so grateful for your giving to the mission of Medeba. Your prayers and giving have an eternal “return on investment”. Thank you for your investment in changing lives.

I’m grateful that many of you want to support Medeba each Christmas season in a meaningful way by funding essential projects. As winter approaches, our thoughts naturally turn to the cold and snow. This year we have two projects that align with this theme: let me share them with you.

Cold – We Need More!

During the summer, our commercial kitchen becomes very hot to work in. It has a large commercial dishwasher, two stove tops, and six ovens that could all be running at the same time. Despite using several commercial fans and three exhaust hood fans, it remains difficult to keep cool. This summer was even worse than usual with record high temperatures. We have decided to introduce some cool air into the kitchen through the installation of air conditioning. As you can imagine, this will require a substantial commercial air conditioning system. Our HVAC contractor has estimated the cost at $20,000

Snow – We Need to Throw It!

Unfortunately this isn’t about snowball fights! Rather, it’s because we had to retire one of our snow plow vehicles after last winter. Our 1996 Jeep Cherokee with a 6’6” plow has served us well for decades. After consideration, we decided to replace it with a snow blower attachment for our Kubota tractor. We still have two other trucks equipped with snow plows, but this “smaller” (6 foot) plow unit will be very handy for the many smaller roads and walkways, and allow us to better handle the snow banks caused by the plow trucks. The new commercial snow blower will have its own engine for power and will easily attach and detach from the front of our tractor. The total cost for this equipment is $15,000.

Will you help us with the cold and snow this Christmas?

These two projects bring the Christmas project total to $35,000. I would be grateful for your consideration in helping us with these projects. Anything you are able to give will be received with thanks and is income tax-deductible.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas as you celebrate Jesus and the precious gift of God’s marvelous plan for him to come to earth.

In appreciation,

Steve Archibald
