Media Advisory - Peoria Park District Celebrates PNC Worldwide Day of Play
PEORIA (May 14, 2022) – The Peoria Park District will hold the 9th annual PNC Worldwide Day of Play, a free all-day event with family-friendly activities and entertainment. Visitors can receive discounted admission that day to Peoria Zoo and the Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum. The 2022 PNC Worldwide Day of Play is open to the public and will feature the 51st Annual Clyde West Fishing Derby at Peoria’s Glen Oak Lagoon. Fishing equipment will be provided for enthusiasts.

What:        The PNC Worldwide Day of Play aims to encourage children and their families to be physically active, curious and adventurous and to enjoy all Peoria’s parks, Zoo and children’s museum have to offer. Where:       Glen Oak Park, 2218 N Prospect Rd, Peoria, IL 61603

Visuals:     
  • 10a-2pm      Family-friendly organized activities and entertainment planned with:
Communication Junction, Sandy the Storyteller, Touch- A-Truck, Community Resource Fair, Barnyard Discoveries, face painting, the drum circle, a children’s dance performance, an obstacle course and carnival games.
  • 10:15am      Flag Ceremony led by local Girl Scout Troop.
  • 10:45a         Performance by Peoria High Drumline.
 
Why:         This annual event provides family-friendly activities in the heart of Peoria’s beautiful park district. PNC’s support aligns with its commitment enhance early education through Grow Up Great, a $500 million, multi-year bilingual initiative which helps prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life.
