CAMARILLO, Calif. – The public is invited to join Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) and Vitalant for their first hosted Blood Drive for 2021 on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The Bloodmobile will be located at 265 Durley Avenue, on the Camarillo Airport grounds, to support the vital needs of the county.
In 2020, VCFD and Vitalant held 3 very successful blood drives, collecting 49 pints of lifesaving blood, equating to 155 lives saved.

In addition to ensuring safety precautions are in place for the public's safety, Vitalant operates within the CDC and County Health guidelines and tests all blood, platelet and plasma donations for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
• Two bloodmobiles to allow for social distancing requirements.
• Following rigorous safety and disinfection protocols at blood drives and donation centers.
• Vitalant is taking temperatures upon entry of the donation center/blood drive.
• Masks are required.
Vitalant, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit community blood service providers, supplies comprehensive transfusion medicine services to nearly 1,000 hospitals and health care partners for patients in need across 40 states.
As a major blood provider in Ventura County, Vitalant depends on volunteer blood donors to maintain adequate supplies to meet the needs of the communities it serves. All blood types are needed. Your donation will help Vitalant keep an ample blood supply for everyday needs and emergencies.
