Advance Media Ride-Along
Media is invited to attend a ride-along of the Valley Line Southeast on Thursday, November 2, prior to the line opening for passenger service. The train will depart from the Mill Woods Stop and travel the full alignment before ending back in Mill Woods.
This is intended as a b-roll opportunity. While there will be no formal interviews, media are invited to capture photos and footage of the trains, stops and stations. Please note, the train will not be stopping at the other stops or at Davies Station.
Date: Thursday, November 2
Time: 1 - 2:30 p.m.
If you would like to attend the ride-along on November 2, please RSVP to
jyllian.park@edmonton.ca by noon on Wednesday, November 1.
Opening Day Opportunities
There will not be a formal media event on opening day of the Valley Line Southeast on Saturday, November 4; however, media are welcome to capture footage of the first trains departing from the
Mill Woods Stop at 5:15 a.m.
For the safety of media and riders alike, please set up in the following areas:
- On the public sidewalks on the north side of the stop and on the shared-use path on the south side of the stop.
- In the open space at the end of the walkway between the transit centre and the LRT stop.
For your safety on the platforms, please remember to stay behind the bumpy yellow line.
Media on ETS Property
Outside of the media opportunities listed above, for the mutual safety of media and transit riders, media are required to notify the City of Edmonton prior to reporting, filming or conducting business on ETS property. This includes transit centres, LRT stations, stops along the Valley Line Southeast and inside all buses and trains. Doing so helps us ensure media activities will not interfere with our ability to provide safe and effective service to riders. If you wish to gain access to ETS property, please contact
ETS Communications. Please note, these requests are monitored during weekday business hours and 24 hours’ notice is appreciated, whenever possible.
