Announces HOT July Music Lineup!

Alive After Five , Downtown Boise’s free summer concert series continues to unveil the fantastic lineup of local and nationally touring artists set to grace the stage of The Grove Plaza each Wednesday this summer. 

2019 is the 33 rd season of Alive After Five, still in its original home on The Grove Plaza in the heart of beautiful downtown Boise.

Wednesday, July 3
Heather Meuleman opens

Alternative indie rock straight out of Boise, and working on their new EP called “Mindset”, low-fi plays a smooth melodic style of alternative rock with elements of folk, progressive rock and funk mixed in. Josh, Todd, Kevin and Fernando mix it up in a way that has attracted fans since 2007. Low-fi’s music has been featured on CW television and Showtime. Look for the new EP out later this year .

Heather Meuleman is a Boise-based singer-songwriter of folksongs and murder ballads that study Idaho’s past, the complicated nature of relationships, and the lessons she’s learned along the way. Heather says she enjoys making music that matters and has opened for national touring acts like Joe Pug and The Talbott Brothers.

Sway Wild Featuring Mandy Fer & Dave McGraw
The Weary Times opens

Mandy is a standout electric guitarist known for filling the stage with her strong yet poised guitar solos. Dave is a wildlife biologist turned songwriter. Together they’re launching their new album, “ Sway Wild”. Fans are raving about the Pacific Northwest feel and these innovative indie-folk-funk-rock artists bring to “Sway Wild”. 

The Weary Times brings the structure and vintage tone of American Mid-Twentieth Century Music to their Boise-based melting pot of styles creating a truly unique sound of their own, while paying homage to their idols. You’ll hear the classic, but diverse influences of legendary bluesmen, hillbilly rock n’ rollers, street corner RnB crooners and sixties garage rockers throughout their songs.

The Black Lillies
Tylor & the Train Robbers opens

The Black Lillies new album “Stranger to Me” is available now. The band’s inviting blend of rock & roll and country has captivated an international audience. Fans love the Black Lillies bigger, deeper sound, amazing chemistry, their lush three-part harmonies, and intricate instrumentals, all with a funky edge. 

Tylor & the Train Robbers are a Boise-based band also with a new album, “Best of the Worst Kind” now available. From good cowboys gone bad to the woesome troubles of the modern American wanderer, these artists are steeped in American Folk without straying from their country root grit.

River Whyless  
Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers
“An abundance of talent” is how some describe River Whyless , a band  from the mountains of Ashville, North Carolina. Their new album, “Kindness, A Rebel” showcases the brilliant blend of harmonies and words, folk and pop River Whyless has become known for.

Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers is an Idaho bluegrass band with some heavy hitters. Band members came together in Idaho from hometowns around the country, giving the band the unique ability to present the richness of American music.

Nate Botsford
Critical Hits
Nate Botsford is a popular Portland-based artist with a hybrid style that’s the backbone of his latest release, “Hourglass”, including the hit single, “This is Your Moment”. From coffee houses to main stages, Nate shares with his audience feel-good tunes with relatable lyrics. His songs receive radio play and have been recognized with national songwriting awards. 

From their hometown of Boise, Idaho Critical Hits brings both Classic and Southern Rock, Blues and Soul to the stage. Think of Critical Hits as your favorite road trip mix tape!

About Alive After Five :

2019 marks the 33rd year of Alive After Five, a celebration of summer, of community, and of great live music in the heart of Downtown Boise every Wednesday afternoon June through August, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Music fans are invited to come downtown early to shop and stay late to dine and enjoy downtown’s always vibrant nightlife.

Alive After Five Tips for Charity:

Announced April 25th, the Tips for Charity program offers nonprofits the opportunity to provide volunteer assistance with beverage service at Alive After Five. In return, all tips generously contributed by music fans from their beverage purchases go to support the nonprofit.

For the 2019 Alive After Five season, volunteers will be provided by these partner nonprofits:
  • June: Catch - Charitable Assistance to the Community’s Homeless
  • ­­­­­July: Fundsy, on behalf of The Peregrine Fund
  • August: Boise Fire Local 149 Burnout Fund
