Alive After Five Summer Concert Series
Features Boise Philharmonic Musician with an Early Independence Day Celebration
June 27, 2019

Alive After Five , Downtown Boise’s free summer concert series is proud to feature an acclaimed member of the Boise Philharmonic orchestra performing the national anthem prior to Boise’s own Low-Fi, the headlining band taking the stage on Wednesday, July 3.

Dan Howard plays bass trombone with the Boise Phil and will perform the national anthem at Alive After Five Wednesday, July 3. Howard served in the United States Marine Corp before graduating from Boise State University and receiving his Masters of Music at Rutgers University. Howard has performed with orchestras and been a music educator for many years. The Downtown Boise Association is honored to welcome him to the Alive After Five stage.

“Alive After Five will start a long weekend of celebrating Independence Day. The DBA wanted to do something special to start the celebration and to add to the weekly celebration of great artists bringing community together to enjoy free live music. As the Boise Philharmonic celebrates their 60 th anniversary, this seemed like a great opportunity to bring one of their great musicians to the Alive After Five stage, ” said Lynn Hightower, Executive Director of the Downtown Boise Association. The DBA produces Alive After Five.

Howard will perform the national anthem just prior to Boise favorite Low-Fi taking the Alive After Five stage, approx. 6:15pm. Boise singer songwriter Heather Meuleman will open Alive After Five July 3. Howard will also stay on stage as event emcee.
