The Company will feature three optocouplers to support low-earth orbit (LEO ) – also known as “New Space” – satellite applications. The OLC449, OLC249 and OLC049 optocouplers are purpose-built to provide the electrical signal isolation, radiation tolerance, performance and reliability required by satellite constellation manufacturers.
These new solutions offer high isolation and performance in radiation settings from -55°C to +125°C ambient temperature range and emitter current of 1mA for low power needs:

OLC449 – Offering the highest Current Transfer Ratio (CTR) in this product portfolio along with 1000 VDC electrical isolation

OLC249 – Providing high CTR with 1500 VDC electrical isolation

OLC049 – Allowing for high CTR and 1000 VDC electrical isolation in a smaller package than the 449 or 249 products.
Designed for harsh elements and smaller form factor requirements of New Space satellites, these new high-rel optocouplers were developed by Skyworks in collaboration with satellite manufacturers to meet the demands of the market. Samples of this new family of optocouplers are currently being evaluated by New Space customers.
