Pride Week in Qualicum Beach
The Town was pleased to hold a COVID-19 friendly ceremony to mark Pride Week. On Tuesday, June 23, members of Town Council and staff were joined by MLA Stilwell’s representative to share a message and raise the Pride flag on the Town’s flagpole. Members of Parksville City Council were also in attendance.

Mayor Wiese said, “Pride week is an important week for the LGBT2Q community, that celebrates their diversity, commemorates their battles for legal rights and social acceptance, and serves as a reminder to continually seek equality for all. It is important that we continue to represent and honour the various groups in our community, which includes our LGBT2Q residents. We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive place for all people, of every sexual orientation, gender, race, and religion.”

The Town wants to especially promote a place where the next generation feels accepted and supported, regardless of their sexual orientation.
