- Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) and Dani Probert, along with presenting sponsor UNIFOR Local 444, gathered at Thunder Road Harley-Davidson today for the official launch of 6thannual Bob Probert Ride.
Taking place on Sunday, June 26th this year's Ride will take participants on a scenic tour of Windsor and Essex County launching from Thunder Road with stops at the Verdi Club, Colchester Bar and Grill and Sandbar Waterfront Grill before returning to the final stop in Walkerville District where riders and their passengers will be able to enjoy refreshments and food at the various local establishments in a mini "Port Dover" street festival experience.
Continuing with tradition, an exciting and well known face will be leading the pack this year. Organizers announced that Bob's former teammate, Probert family friend and fellow enforcer Ryan VandenBussche will be this year's Road Captain.
Having successfully fulfilled their commitment for the Cardiac Cath Lab and the Angioplasty Program at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus, and purchasing Patient Equipment for the brand new Rehabilitation (Cardiac) and Wellness Program at HDGH's Prince Road Campus, funds raised at this year's event will support the development of a proposed new satellite Rehabilitation (Cardiac) Wellness Program planned for an east end location.
Returning for the third year, the Probert Classic taking place on Friday, June 3
at Tecumseh Arena will once again be bringing NHL, OHL and AHL players together for the charity game. Tickets for this event organized by Tierney Probert are just $5 with all proceeds supporting the Probert Ride. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
